The C-Ducer is a capacitive tape transducer with a flat frequency response extending well beyond that of human hearing. Less than 1 mm thick the microphone is flexible, extremely light, and will conform to curved surfaces such as a double bass body or a drum shell. Exceptional transient response and high immunity to ambient sounds makes C-Ducer a natural choice for amplifying or recording many acoustic instruments from accordions to zithers. It is also useful for recording many different sound effects from tap dancing to underwater sounds.
